Hawaii County Police have apprehended a Hamakua man indicted by a grand jury last year for a murder in Waipio Valley.

Police arrested Wayne Teves, 67, on Monday at his home in Waipio Valley without incident.
In early March of 2016, police discovered the body of Thaine Price, 49, of Waipio Valley partially submerged in a stream near the back of the valley. An autopsy confirmed Price died following a gunshot wound to his torso.
HPD has charged Teves with second-degree murder and for carrying or using a firearm in the commission of a separate felony. Teves is being held at the Hilo cellblock pending his initial court appearance today. Bail has been set at $500,000.
